Free top-up visa “China-India” flights into Thailand surge at the highest level

“Thai Airports” reveals statistics from October 2023 – March 2024 on Chinese-Indian tourists. Traveling into Thailand by airline is at its highest. Especially after the government opened a free visa. Chinese people arriving increased by 113 percent, averaging 28,100 people/day, from the original 13,200 people entering Thailand/day, while Indian arrivals continued to increase. It is considered a positive sign for Thai tourism. Dr. Keerati Kitmanawat, President of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), said that from the statistics of foreign tourists traveling by airline to Thailand. Between October 2023 – March 2024, a total of 6 months, including promotion according to the government’s visa-free policy. As a result, the number of Chinese passengers has grown on average from 13,200 people per day to 28,100 people per day, an increase of 113 percent, and the number of Indian passengers has grown on average from 5,100 people per day to 6,200. Persons per day increased by 22 percent. Overall, AOT’s air traffic volume between October 2023 – March 2024 has a total of 367,032 flights, an increase of 16.86 percent compared to the same period last year. Divided into 203,731 international flights and 163,301 domestic flights, the total number of passengers was 61.22 million, an increase of 23.78 percent, divided into 36.82 million international passengers and Domestic passengers were 24.40 million. Comparing the first and second quarters, the number of flights grew from 178,214 flights to 188,818 flights, an increase of 5.95 percent, divided into additional international flights. There were an increase of 10,949 flights and a decrease of 345 domestic flights. The number of passengers increased from 2.88 million to 3.23 million, an increase of 11.96 percent, divided into 3.01 million international passengers. An increase of 17.86 percent and 0.43 million domestic passengers, an increase of 3.65 percent.
